By now you may have seen the new issue of Naturelle. I chose the image on the left for the cover because of its aura of green and summer, but – as always – I did take other options into consideration.
This was my favorite while I was working on Naturelle number 10 in spring. But as spring turned into summer and the issue wasn't finished yet, I longed for a different image.
These two were taken from the article about Lago Maggiore. The one with the little boat was a long time favorite, but in the end it just didn't fully reflect the character of the issue.
These two images are from the same series as the actual cover photo. I like the colorful and whimsical interiors, but I decidedly wanted an outdoors shot for the cover.
Even though I adore this flower, it just wasn't 'cover material'.
I love this image and I was tempted to use it for the cover. This, to me, is about goodness from the earth in a light and healthy summer dish. But even though Naturelle is all about living naturally and eating well, it is not just about cooking.
So that is how, in the end, I selected the current cover which is outdoors, green, summery and a good indication of what awaits you. I wonder which one you would have chosen.
